Jesus Christ — The Good Shepherd

Hand-painted icon of Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, holding a lamb in His arms, with a glowing halo and green and red robes.

In this hand-painted icon on wood, Jesus Christ is portrayed as the Good Shepherd, holding a little lamb in His arms. The warm light surrounding His face, the green and red of His robes, and His tender gaze express the care and sense of safety I wished to convey.

The Message Behind the Icon

I wanted to paint an embrace where fear gives way to peace. The little lamb rests against Christ’s chest, safe in His hands. Through His gaze, I wanted anyone looking at the painting to feel that there is a place in this embrace for them, too.

I have also hidden four little diamonds somewhere in the painting… Can you find them?
